Makalango Community Development strives to live the legacy of their ancestors where we live in a collective community rather than an individualistic community. Although, we live in the United States, we want to make everyone feel as though they are still living in Makalango by being each other's backbones, by being swift in assisting when one of us in need and treating each other as a family.
Inquire NowMakalango Community Development was founded in 2018 by a couple of brilliant members in the community who saw the need for unity. Makalango Community provides emotional, religious and financial support to each active member. Financial support is intended to cover funeral and/or burial cost to family members who lost their immediate family members. This community is exclusive for members from the Makalango diaspora because Makalango wants to unify all members of the Makalango Village who live in the United States. Holding onto to our Islamic Faith is the center of all we do. Makalango currently has 150 active members. Makalango is 100% run by board members and thus, our board members are the backbone of this community. Makalango community strives because of their commitment.
read moreMakalango holds annual meetings at different states. Purpose of the annual meetings is to discuss success and setbacks of prior year. Last year alone, we collected a total donation of $94,010 in 2022 for funeral/burial assistance.
